Tom Pierson has been training horses professionally since 1981. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a bachelor's degree in Animal Science in 1978.
While attending college, he interned for Jack Brainard in Rochester, MN and showed his first reining horse, Spanish Lace I. This mare was responsible for Tom's lifelong interest in reining horses.
He owned and operated Pierson Performance Horses from 1981 to 1995. He was also the Horse Herdsman at UWRF and helped teach the colt training class for 10 years. In 1995, he moved to Michigan as the trainer at Cold Spring Farm in Maple City.
"If a horse has food, water, and room to exercise, he is content. When humans introduce goals and plans that go far beyond a horse's basic need to survive, we must recognize what the horse understands today. This will eliminate the frustration of asking for things before he has learned them. This has little to do with a horse's age or amount of training, and everything to do with what the horse understands today." -Tom-
Tom has started eight NRHA futurity finalists, showing two of them. He is the host of "Tom Pierson: From Prospect to Performance". Visit Tom Pierson's Website
