HRTV RECEIVES FIVE 2013 OHIO VALLEY REGIONAL EMMY AWARD NOMINATIONS
Arcadia, CA, June 12 -- HRTV (R), The Network for Horse Sports, has received five 2013 Ohio Valley Regional Emmy Award nominations from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences of the Ohio Valley.
The 49th Annual Ohio Valley Regional Emmy Awards encompass Kentucky, and the Awards ceremony is slated for Saturday, July 20 at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherlands Plaza in Cincinnati, OH.
HRTV's received all three nominations in the "Sports - One-Time Special" category, including two from its award-winning monthly documentary show, Inside Information -- Horse Show at Old Hilltop (aired in August), and The Fix (November airing). The other HRTV nomination, in association with Turn Left Productions, was a special documentary, Garrett Gomez: 118 Days (May airing).
Horse Show at Old Hilltop provided a closer look at the Totally Thoroughbred Horse Show, which was held at Pimlico Race Course in July, and The Fix recalled the infamous Pick 6 scandal that occurred during the 2002 Breeders' Cup. Garrett Gomez: 118 Days offered an unprecedented look at the Eclipse Award-winning jockey's determined return from a shattered heel.
The network's Steve Scheidler is nominated in two categories -- "Editor - Program" and "Graphic Arts."
This year’s nominations bring the total to 28 for the network in its short history. Last year, HRTV earned an Ohio Valley Regional Emmy in the "Sports - One-Time Special" designation for its Inside Information: Radosevich show.
HRTV was first nominated, and won, an Ohio Valley Regional Emmy Award in 2009 for the "Sports - One-Time Special" category for its Inside Information: Dubai World Cup show. In 2011, the network was honored with nine Ohio Valley Regional Emmy Awards, with Inside Information garnering six awards in four different categories.
