Network On-Site at Fair Grounds and Gulfstream on Saturday for Derby Preps & Stakes Action
HRTV (R), The Network for Horse Sports, will kick its Triple Crown coverage into high gear this Saturday when it presents live on-site coverage of the Grade 2, $400,000 Risen Star from the Fair Grounds, and continues with its meet-long presence at Gulfstream Park for the Grade 2, $400,000 Fountain of Youth, another key Kentucky Derby prep.
The network's Scott Hazelton will be in New Orleans to cover the big day of racing, which also includes the $200,000 Rachel Alexandra, and two $150,000 events -- the Fair Grounds Handicap and the Mineshaft.
Caton Bredar, who has been stationed at Gulfstream for HRTV's "Xpressbet Xtra" enhanced coverage since the meet's opening, will be joined by Laffit Pincay, III for a spectacular day of racing in Hallandale. Additional stakes on the card include: the $200,000 Davona Dale and the $150,000 Canadian Turf Stakes.
HRTV's on-site talent at both tracks will provide viewers with the latest happenings for each outstanding card, as well as key analysis, interviews, and more, leading into the key races. The Risen Star (5:25 p.m. CT post time) has drawn a 14-horse field, while 13 are slated to go postward in the Fountain of Youth (5:33 p.m. ET post time).
