HRTV ON-SITE FOR CALDER'S ANNUAL "SUMMIT OF SPEED" THIS SATURDAY
Miami, FL, July 3 -- For the fifth consecutive year, HRTV (R), The Network for Horse Sports, will be on-site at Calder Casino & Race Course for the annual "Summit of Speed" this Saturday, July 7.
The 13th edition of the "Summit of Speed," which features four six-furlong graded stakes races worth a total of $1.1 million, is annually one of the summer's biggest race days, and HRTV's tandem of Peter Lurie and Caton Bredar will be reporting on all the action from the Miami, FL area track.
Lurie and Bredar will be chronicling the action from trackside, offering the latest developments on the outstanding card, as well providing in-depth analysis and pre- and post-race interviews.
Post time for the stakes-heavy card is set for 12:55 p.m. ET.
The unique day of racing lures the country's best sprinters to South Florida each year and the impressive stakes slate is topped by the Grade 1, $400,000 Princess Rooney for fillies and mares. The Grade 2, $400,000 Smile Sprint Handicap, is joined by a pair of two Grade 3, $150,000 races -- the Carry Back and the Azalea -- to form the quartet of outstanding stakes races. The Smile Sprint is a Breeders' Cup "Win and You're In" race.
