HRTV OFFERS FANS A FEAST OF THANKSGIVING PROGRAMMING
Arcadia, CA, Nov. 25, 2013 -- HRTV (R), The Network for Horse Sports, will offer fans a bountiful feast of outstanding programming, including live Thoroughbred racing action and equestrian premieres, on Thanksgiving -- Thursday, Nov. 28 -- on HRTV (and HRTV.com).
Beginning at 11 a.m. ET, HRTV will carry live coverage of special holiday racing cards from Aqueduct, Churchill Downs, Hollywood Park, Laurel Park, Fair Grounds, Calder, and Golden Gate.
Once the top-flight racing action concludes, a special five-hour equestrian block will kickoff at 6:30 p.m. ET and feature renowned international events, as well as two prominent polo competitions.
The Aachen CHIO 2013 Carriage Driving Championship, contested at the annual World Equestrian Festival in June from Aachen, Germany, will start the equestrian action. The U.S. team of Chester Weber and Jimmy Fairclough competed in this event.
That will be followed by the 2013 Westchester Cup Polo (7:30 p.m. ET), which was held at the Guards Polo Club in Westminster in late July, and featured a tense, sudden death playoff between the U.S. and England. At 8:30 p.m. ET, the action returns to Aachen for the 2013 CHIO Dressage Championship in the Deutsche Bank Stadium, where Steffen Peters and Tina Konyot represented the U.S.
Following Aachen, HRTV will premiere highlights of the HITS Zoetis $1 Million Grand Prix from Saugerties, NY The richest event in Show Jumping, the Grand Prix was the grand finale for the riders and horses that qualified on the HITS circuit throughout the year.
The culminating event of HRTV's equestrian block will begin at 10:30 p.m. ET, and feature the premiere of the Maserati 109th U.S. Polo Championship, dubbed the "Super Bowl" of Polo. Team Valiente, led by Adolfo Cambiaso, battles Team Zacara, with Facundo Pieres at the helm, in a closely-contested match.
