HRTV EQUESTRIAN NOTES:
HRTV (R), The Network for Horse Sports, will provide equestrian fans with more top-flight action when it hosts the exclusive, free live webcast (www.tvg2.com) of two outstanding shows from Lake Placid, NY -- Lake Placid Horse and I Love New York Shows -- for 10 days (Wednesday, June 26 through Sunday, June 30 and Wednesday, July 3 through Sunday, July 7).
HRTV.com's comprehensive webcast airings will begin at 8 a.m. ET each day. The 2013 Lake Placid Horse Shows, Presented by Sea Shore Stables, LLC, feature the 44th annual Lake Placid Horse Show (June 25-30) and the 36th annual I Love New York Horse Show (July 2-7). The horse shows host all levels of competition ranging from young children on ponies to grand prix competitors and Olympic medalists, all competing for over $535,000 in prize money.
The annual shows from upstate New York showcases two of the most prominent equestrian events for world-class riders and horses and are key events on the all-important "Road to the Alltech National Horse Show," which is set for Oct. 29-Nov. 3 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY.
Highlighting the competition, and HRTV.com's webcasts, are the $75,000 Equine Insurance Services/Great American Grand Prix of Lake Placid on June 30, the $100,000 Woodlea Farms Grand Prix, both presented by Sea Shore Stables, LLC, slated for July 6, along with the $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, presented by Eastern Hay and Purina Mills on July 7.
The Grand Prix ring webcast and coverage of individual rides is provided by ShowNet.
The addition of the Lake Placid shows to HRTV.com's burgeoning webcast coverage of premier equestrian events joins an expanding list in recent years, including: Lamborghini Grand Prix, Hampton Classic's Grand Prix & FEI World Cup qualifier, Diamonds & Dirt Barrel Horse Classic, the North American Junior & Young Rider's Championship, and others.
New Series of HorseFlicks Shows Kickoff on Wednesday at 9 p.m.
HRTV (R), the Network for Horse Sports, will debut a new series of the popular HorseFlicks, beginning on Wednesday, June 26 at 9 p.m. ET.
The 30-minute show will air for 13 weeks in the Wednesday time slot. HorseFlicks is a unique series that brings horse enthusiasts the world of horse breeds and visits to Great Western Dude Ranches.
With over 90 breeds of horses in North America, it takes a look at selected breeds with exceptional versatility and suitability for ownership. HorseFlicks shows viewers the passion that owners have for their particular breed, and why they have been attracted to particular breeds.
HRTV's opening episode will feature the "Appleby Gypsy Horse Fair," which is held annually at Appleby-in-Westmoreland, Cumbria in England. One of the oldest horse fairs in Britain, it is held every year in early June. Viewers may watch the majestic Vanner horse and join the annual Romany reunion. Roughly 30,000 people visit the fair during the week.
The Great Western Dude Ranch series features historic, sometime luxurious and always authentic, vacations on legendary ranches throughout the Western U.S. Coming soon will be an episode on the White Stallion Inn, in Tucson, AZ, where guests enjoy safe rides among the exotic Saguaro cactus.
